Brent S. Ogilvie is co-founder of Pacific Channel, which through its access to expertise and financial capital, facilitates the growth of commercially viable biotechnology companies in Australia and New Zealand: emerging global centres of agricultural, nutritional and biomedical sciences. Pacific Channel was formed as a "channel" between Australasia and the world’s largest market - the United States, acting as a conduit toward long-term, global growth and success.
Mr. Ogilvie was NZ Consul and Trade Commissioner to New York from 2000 – 2003 leading a team that facilitated foreign exchange earnings of more than NZ$250m. Prior to his appointment as Trade Commissioner, Mr. Ogilvie was the NZ Trade Development Board’s sector manager for agricultural technologies and life sciences. Before joining the NZ Trade Development Board, Mr. Ogilvie worked as a technical business consultant in Auckland, NZ and prior to that for Winstone, a subsidiary of Fletcher Challenge where he worked in various business development roles.
Mr. Ogilvie holds a BSc. (Bio.) from The University of Waikato and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Auckland. His MBA thesis investigated the key differences between drivers of venture capital investment and philanthropic grant into life science ventures.
